Hello April

Hello, April!

April is already shaping up to be a busy and exciting month. Between getting into the rhythm of posting regularly here and on YouTube, planning a weekend getaway, celebrating my daughter’s birthday (even though the party will be in May), and a waterpark adventure for a friend’s birthday, there’s a lot to look forward to. There will be travel, celebrations, and the kind of beautiful spring weather that makes everything feel a little more magical. I don’t know about you, but I, for one, am so ready for it!

This month marks the halfway point in my 30-day fitness journey, and I’m hoping to see some real progress by the time we head out for our weekend vacation. But even after the trip, my commitment won’t stop. I plan to continue pushing forward and keeping soda out of my diet for good, still striving for 10k steps a day.

Beyond fitness, I want to spend more time sewing. I just finished making my daughter the cutest little frog apron, and now I’m excited to create matching dresses and skirts for us. On the home front, March was all about updating the living room, but in April, my focus shifts to the kitchen. I also want to get serious about the garden; putting up a fence, tidying up the backyard, and prepping everything before May.

Another big goal for the month? Writing! I’ve got about 70k words down on my book, and I’d love to have it finished in the next month or two. That means I’ll need to carve out time to write while also juggling everything else. So, a major focus this month is finding a happy balance between family, blogging, vlogging, writing, and personal time.

My intentions for the month? To be more patient (especially with the kids) and to extend the same kindness to myself that I try to give to others. Here’s to a month of progress, creativity, and balance!

This month’s reading list is looking pretty exciting! I’m planning to get through 4 or 5 books:

Sunrise on the Reaping is the read that is carrying me into the new month.

Legends & Lattes will be an audio listen from my ABC challenge of the year.

Powerless will be my second ABC challenge read for the month.

Scythe & Sparrow to finish the month strong!

I’m also waiting to see what our book club pick for the month is!

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books, or if you plan on reading any of them this month with me!

Goodbye March!

March was… A month. I can say that much. But in all honesty, March wasn’t half bad. I started cracking down on my blog and started my YouTube again (you can check out some of my videos linked down there -v), started getting back into working out, and eating healthier. Plus, we booked our spring trip to a waterpark that we haven’t visited yet.

Needless to say, it wasn’t a bad month, but I am ready to see what April brings!

Last Months Books:

We Used to Live Here: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • We Used to Live Here kept me on the edge of my bed. The tip of my toes. My anxiety was high with this book, in the best way. I would’ve loved to give it 5 stars, but I didn’t care for the ending.

Deep End: ⭐⭐⭐

  • Deep End is definitely SMUT. Now, I don’t mind a good spicy book every now and then, but I do like a little more to my stories. More conflict, more character development. Not to say that this book didn’t have those things, I just like a little more. If more smut and less story is what you’re feeling right now, I say go for this book.

Onyx Storm: Unknown

  • I cannot give an honest opinion of this book, because I haven’t finished it yet. I did start around the middle of March, and had to set it down for a minute because I couldn’t get into it. Maybe it’s been too long since I read the others, or maybe the beginning is just a little to sloe for me. I will pick it up again, maybe later in April, but for now, it’s going to stay tucked under my current read in my night stand.
